In the category of "places I am going after winning the lottery": Finding books to give a voracious reader was always difficult for my family, but now and then my mother would hit the nail right on the head. One year when I was in elementary school, I got a copy of Thor Heyerdahl's Easter Island, and developed a life-long fascination with anthropology. Kon Tiki wasn't a bad book, but it was Easter Island and the fate of that civilization that fired my imagination.
