Be warned:in this very rich environment where you can immerse yourself so completely, your emotions will become engaged -- and not everyone is cognizant of that. Among the many excellent features of SL, there is no auto-return on hearts, so be wary of where your's wanders...

meh....

Today is the 6th day of the week, the 10th day of the 6th month, the 162nd day of 2016, and:
  • Alcoholics Anonymous Founders' Day – in 1935 Dr. Robert Smith takes his last drink in Akron, Ohio
  • Ballpoint Pen Day
  • Banana Split Day [and tomorrow]
  • National Black Cow Day
  • National Herb and Spice Day
  • National Iced Tea Day
  • National Lemonade Day[s]
  • National Marriage Day
  • Poultry Day
In 671 the water clock (clepsydra) called Rokoku was introduced by Emperor Tenji of Japan. In 1829 the first Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge took place on the Thames River [they are still rowing 187 years later].  In 1886 Mount Tarawera in New Zealand erupts, killing 153 people and burying the famous Pink and White Terraces. In 1947 Saab produced its first automobile.

It isn’t that I don’t have anything to say.  I have strong opinions about many things, including politics.  I am not at all happy with the Democrats  [if you don’t want to read the article, this quote says it all:  “The Democratic establishment disarmed Bernie Sanders' political revolution in a swift and ruthless counter coup Thursday, lining up behind its own heir apparent, Hillary Clinton”] and the establishment for ignoring the issues of income inequity and intolerance.  I plain don’t like Hillary – didn’t when she was Frist Lady, didn’t while she was Secretary of State.  I just don’t trust her because she has proven again and again that she is all about wealth, privilege, and power [not necessarily in that order] – and she will do whatever it takes to make sure that she and hers come out on top no matter what happens to anyone else.  I am not at all impressed that a woman is a candidate for the highest political office in the land and no, I won’t vote for her because she is a woman.  Gals, we fought that battle decades ago just so we could judge folks by something other than their gender and I am sure not going to do it now.

#feeltheBern brought a sense of vision to the election, a feeling that we could make a difference, have a positive impact.   Without the energy of Bernie’s followers, all the local races are at risk.  The establishment moving to alienate them makes me question how Hillary does business once again.  To top it off?  There is a part of me that kinda believes the Koch brothers endorsement of her instead of the presumptive Republican candidate simply proves a cartel of old white rich men have set up Trump as a strawman just so Hillary will breeze into office in November.  They want her because she will do their bidding; they are counting on folks voting against Trump even if they don’t want to vote for her  –  and it would serve them right if the reality show star actually won.

So it isn’t that I don’t have anything to say.  I just don’t think that anyone cares or is listening just now – and I’m betting I am not alone.  This is how apathy takes ahold, neh?
